Verónica Layunta-Maurel is a Spanish and Creative Writing teacher at the Language Centre of the University of Nottingham, who has been working on the introduction of Creative Writing in the language classroom for the last eight years. She currently teaches a Creative Writing (in Spanish) module for final year undergraduates of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin-American Studies and the MA in Digital Technologies for Language Teaching module 'Advanced Language Teaching: Technology-Enhanced Creative Writing in a Foreign Language.
Veronica studied a PGC in Creative Writing at Newcastle University and an MA in Creative Writing at The University of Nottingham. As a writer, she currently writes both fiction and non-fiction. She has published lifestyle articles in yoga, philosophy,culture and health publications like Yoke and the lifestyle section of The Huffington Post, US. In regards to fiction, Veronica is currently working on a collection of short stories and a novel.
Veronica is also co-director and writer of Odyssey Films, an exciting new film company that aims to bring thought provoking and insightful drama, intended to make us ask the deepest questions about ourselves, the people around us and our own journey through life. Odyssey Films' first outing is the short film The Eagle.
